Ancelotti bids farewell to Real Madrid: "I'm not sad."

Carlo Ancelotti said he was "not" sad in his final days as Real Madrid manager, despite the fact that Saturday will mark his final match in charge, as "sooner or later this day had to come." He also emphasized that "it has been a successful period" in which they won "a lot."
"It's inevitable that these will be special days. It's the last day here and the last game tomorrow. Whenever a career ends, there's a lot of emotion; that's what's happening to me these days. I'm not sad at all; I'm very happy. A very important stage of my career is coming to an end. I've tried to do everything I could for this club. We've achieved it, and we're leaving happy. Sooner or later, this day had to come, and I'm leaving grateful to everyone who has worked with me over this time," he said in a press conference.
"I've had a great time, with a lot of love, a lot of help, and the opportunity to coach spectacular players. Everything has gone well. I know this period, which has been quite long and during which everything has gone well, is coming to an end," he continued.
He also stated that he is excited and eager to take on his next challenge: becoming Brazil's national team coach.
"A new era begins with the same enthusiasm and desire I had when I arrived at Real Madrid, the first and second time around. It's been a successful period; we've won a lot," he said.
